You are invited to join us the first Monday of each month, 6:30 p.m. at the school.
The Nottawa School Council is a very active, community-minded group. Our Council meets monthly and is an important support to the school. The council sponsors a variety of events over the school year. These activities promote community spirit and are intended to help every member of the school community feel welcomed. In addition, the School Council provides meaningful input to improve student achievement and the learning environment.
Nottawa Elementary is fortunate to enjoy the assistance of a large number of volunteers from the community. Student learning and the school environment are greatly enhanced by the contributions of our volunteers’ time and help. Our school hosts many events including concerts, fun fairs and athletic tournaments. The school and members of the public attend these with great enthusiasm. Many of our students are also actively involved in public events and competitions outside of the school. Nottawa is well represented by them and council does its best to be supportive of all these initiatives.
Support for school councils is provided by the Simcoe County District School Board’s Parent Involvement Committee.
Why join us on school council?
Involvement in school council is a meaningful, hands-on way to have a direct, positive impact on your child’s educational experience. Research shows that when parents are involved in their child’s education, the level of student achievement increases.
